Every knot in this Turkish Oushak rug was tied by hand on a traditional loom in the Bhadohi–Mirzapur weaving belt, where the craft has passed through families for generations. The result is a piece that looks like it was found rather than bought — and one that will still look beautiful in twenty years.
The field runs a rich coffee-brown, worked with rows of camel, honey-gold and ivory palmettes in the classic Anatolian style. A deep charcoal border frames it, edged with a crisp ivory tribal band of stepped geometric and stylized tree motifs. Because the wool is hand-spun and naturally dyed, the ground carries a soft abrash — the subtle tonal shift running through the pile that gives authentic hand-knotted rugs their movement and character.
