This is a traditional Turkish Oushak drawn in the Ziegler Sultanabad manner: a fine vine scroll runs edge to edge across a pale periwinkle field, opening into palmettes, rosettes and split-leaf arabesques in apricot, sage, cream and soft coral. The main border carries a boteh-and-palmette procession on antique rosewood, framed by two narrow guard bands. It is the rare blue rug that reads warm.

WHY NEW ZEALAND WOOL
New Zealand fleece has a longer, whiter staple than most wool, so it takes natural dye cleanly and resists the dulling that cheaper fiber shows within a few years. The wool's own lanolin makes the pile naturally soil-resistant — most spills sit on the surface long enough to blot. Wool is also naturally flame-retardant, biodegradable, and it does not hold dust the way synthetic fiber does, which matters in a bedroom. Low-shedding after the first few weeks of settling.
WHERE IT WORKS
The periwinkle field is cool enough to calm a bright south-facing living room and soft enough to sit under a bed without competing with the linens. Blue has moved from accent to grounding neutral in 2026 interiors, and this palette sits comfortably with white oak, brass, cane, unbleached linen and warm white walls.
