THE PIECE
Hand-knotted on a cotton foundation using the Turkish Ghiordes knot, woven in the BhadohiβMirzapur belt of Uttar Pradesh by weavers who learned the craft from the generation before them. Every knot is tied by hand. Nothing here is machine-made, tufted, or glued.
The drawing is a Ziegler Sultanabad allover composition β the softened, large-scale Persian floral vocabulary that has anchored Western interiors since the 19th century, worked here in the Anatolian Oushak manner. Palmettes, rosettes, and a continuous vine scroll travel across the field rather than resolving into a single central medallion, which is why the pattern reads as calm rather than busy even at close range.

THE COLOURWAY
Measured, not guessed. The field is a deep brick red with burgundy depth β closer to oxblood and madder than to a bright pillar-box red. The wide main border is camel shading toward antique gold and wheat. Motifs are outlined in a dark coffee brown and lifted with ivory and cream. There is gentle tonal movement across the field where the hand-spun yarn takes dye at slightly different rates, which is normal and desirable in a hand-knotted piece.
This is a warm, saturated, two-tone rug. It is not a neutral, and it is not beige.

Vacuum without a beater bar. Rotate every six months for even wear. Blot spills immediately β wool's natural lanolin makes the pile naturally soil-resistant, so most spills lift before they set, but the fibre is not stain-proof and shouldn't be treated as such. Professional wash every three to five years. Use a quality rug pad.
