THE COLOR STORY
The field is a soft heather lilac - a muted, dusty mauve-violet that reads calm rather than loud, with gentle tonal movement across the ground where hand-spun yarn takes dye at slightly different rates. Framing it are broad sage-green borders, sand-cream guard bands, and stylized florals drawn in olive, taupe and ivory. It sits close to Pinterest's 2026 Jade green on one side and the softer end of this year's plum family on the other: grown-up, quiet, and far more liveable than a saturated purple.
THE DESIGN
Ordered rows of stylized floral sprigs move across the open field, framed by a stepped chevron border and rosette guard bands. This is the vocabulary the Arts and Crafts movement borrowed directly from Anatolian weaving - the same disciplined botanical geometry found in Turkish Oushak carpets and in the Craftsman and Donegal-style rugs that furnished American bungalows a century ago. If your home leans Craftsman, Mission, Prairie, cottage or transitional, this design was drawn for it.

- 100% New Zealand wool pile on a cotton foundation
- Hand-knotted using the Turkish Ghiordes (symmetrical) knot
- Woven in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur belt of Uttar Pradesh, India
- Integrated warp fringe, knotted from the rug's own structure and never sewn on
- No latex backing, no glue, no synthetic blends
- Low-shedding and naturally stain-resistant, thanks to the lanolin wool carries on its own
- The design reads clearly through to the reverse, which is the mark of a genuinely hand-knotted rug
WHY NEW ZEALAND WOOL
New Zealand fleece is longer-stapled, whiter before dyeing and higher in lanolin than most carpet wools. It takes colour cleanly, resists soiling without any chemical treatment, sheds very little past the first few weeks, and keeps its spring underfoot for decades. It is the reason this rug will still look right in your home in twenty years.
