"Coral gingham at dining-table scale: this 9x12 hand knotted wool carpet frames every chair in rhubarb red and vanilla lines on a warm salmon-pink field.
HOW IT IS MADE
Tied knot by knot on an upright loom in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of Uttar Pradesh, using the Turkish (Ghiordes) symmetrical knot - the double-wrapped knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving - in 100% New Zealand wool on a cotton foundation. No latex, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the warp itself.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field is a dusty coral pink (#CA9A8F, moving to #BE8B81) over about 74% of the surface, ruled in rhubarb red (#A46B5D, about 10%) and lifted by twin vanilla lines (#E5D6C8, about 16%). A warm pink leaning coral - not a cool rose, not a beige. The lines are tonal, so the check reads from across a room without shouting.
If you follow 2026 palettes: designers are swapping plaster pink for warmer coral, and gingham checks are back in bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms.
THE DESIGN
A windowpane gingham check: five vertical and seven horizontal bands, each a rhubarb rule, two vanilla lines and a second rule, crossing in small woven squares and running edge to edge with no border, like a picnic cloth. It draws on the banded weaves of Turkish kilim and village work rather than the floral Oushak medallion, so it sits easily beside Ottoman, tribal and nomadic pieces. Hand knotting gives the lines gentle tonal movement no printed rug can copy.

WHERE IT WORKS

CARE
Vacuum without a beater bar, rotate twice a year, blot spills with cold water, professional wash every three to five years.
