"Pale linen beige wool drawn over in ebony foxglove stems: this hand-knotted Turkish Oushak style rug gives the living room a quiet botanical frame.
HOW IT IS MADE
Every knot is tied by hand on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of India, using the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the symmetrical double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving. No latex, no adhesive, no machine tufting: the fringe is the warp itself. Knotted to order in about 45 days.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field measures #C8B08F, a warm linen beige, across about 54% of the surface; the border band deepens to #AB9479 buff at 20%. The drawing is ebony and cocoa brown (#2F2112 to #433321, 16%), with mink flowerheads (#816E5A, 6%) and ecru highlights (#E0D3BD, 4%). Dark line work on a pale ground reads clearly across a room while the rug stays quiet.
If you follow 2026 palettes: Pantone named Cloud Dancer, a soft white, its Colour of the Year. This linen and ebony rug sits one step warmer and gives a pale room its anchor.
THE DESIGN
An Oushak style botanical frame in the Arts and Crafts manner: a cruciform centre of hanging foxglove-like bells, four corner sprays reaching inward, and a trailing stem border between twin ebony guard lines. The open linen field lets the drawing breathe. It is a floral, not a tribal or nomadic geometric and not a flat Kilim - knotted pile in the Ottoman-influenced Anatolian tradition, at home in farmhouse, coastal and modern traditional rooms.

WHERE IT WORKS
Under a sofa and two chairs, beneath a dining table with every chair on the rug, two-thirds under a bed, or in a light-filled garden room. Dense wool handles family traffic; avoid long hours of direct sun.
CARE
Vacuum without a beater bar. Rotate twice a year. Blot spills, never rub. Professional wash every few years.
