"Peach rug 8x10 in hand knotted wool: seven columns of cognac bobbin forms stacked on a sandstone field, mid century modern with Turkish-knot depth.
HOW IT IS MADE
Knotted by hand on a cotton foundation by weavers in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur belt of India, using the symmetrical Turkish (Ghiordes) double knot behind Anatolian Oushak, Ottoman village and nomadic tribal rugs. Unlike a flatwoven kilim or a tufted rug, this is true knotted pile: no latex, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the warp itself.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field is #D4A481 sandstone peach (about 59%); the motifs are cognac #905933, deepening to umber #77441E and lifting to toffee #A96E49 (about 41%). Every tone sits in one warm hue family, so the rug reads tone on tone: calm and cohesive, never high contrast. In daylight the field is a peach-beige, warmer than an oatmeal or greige.
If you follow 2026 palettes: cognac is the brown replacing chocolate, and warm minimalism is pulling rooms toward soft earth tones. This rug sits in both.
THE DESIGN
Seven columns of stacked, lathe-turned bobbin forms rise through an open field, framed top and bottom by nine rectangular blocks, with no border. Think chess pieces or balanced cairn stones: mid century modern and postmodern rather than a traditional Oushak medallion. It pairs well with bobbin furniture, walnut and cognac leather.

WHERE IT WORKS
