A 9x12 that anchors a whole room without shouting: antique rose wool, a stepped Anatolian medallion, and deep wine borders that read from the doorway.

HOW IT IS MADE
Every knot is tied by hand on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur belt of Uttar Pradesh, with the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the symmetrical double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving. No latex backing, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the warp itself, hand-tied at both ends.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field reads dusty rose at #A97376, about 40 per cent of the surface. Border and medallion ring are wheat cream at #D3BFA9, roughly 22 per cent. Motif work is deep burgundy at #724043 at 21 per cent, outlined in an oxblood so dark it reads plum-noir at #3E1C22 at 13 per cent, plus a charcoal-aubergine centre diamond. Field luminance drifts by a measured 10.87 - genuine abrash, the tonal movement small-batch dyeing leaves behind.
If you follow 2026 palettes: burgundy ran through the Heimtextil 2026/27 trend wall, while dusty rose has been reframed as the grown-up, quiet-luxe pink. This piece carries both.
THE DESIGN
Anatolian in lineage - a stepped central medallion with latch-hook arms, flanked by hooked lightning motifs, corner spandrel shields carrying cross-and-rosette forms, and a main border of comb and barber-pole devices between narrow guard bands. The village-medallion vocabulary Oushak and Kazak weaving share, drawn bolder than a floral Oushak - it anchors a plain sofa without competing with patterned upholstery.

WHERE IT WORKS
Living room, with all four furniture legs on. Bedroom, set so 45-60 cm shows each side of the bed. Dining room, sized to keep chairs on when pulled out. Study or library, where the darker motifs pick up wood and leather. Wool pile takes high traffic, and this rose field holds its tone in bright rooms.
CARE
Vacuum without a beater bar. Rotate twice yearly. Blot spills, never rub. Professional wash every few years.
