HOW IT IS MADE
Knotted by hand, one knot at a time, on a cotton foundation by weavers in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur belt of Uttar Pradesh, India. We use the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving - which locks each tuft of wool around two warps and gives the pile its density and its long life. No latex backing, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the warp itself, hand-tied, never stitched on afterwards.
THE COLOR, MEASURED
We color-sample every piece before we write about it. This one reads: smoky jade field #55846F at 39 percent, sage-olive border ground #A5AA8C at 21 percent, deep pine green #244639 at 18 percent, oat cream medallion and motif work #CECFB5 at 16 percent, and a warm camel #ACA27F at 2 percent. That split - a cool green field against a pale, warm border - is what lets the rug read from the doorway instead of dissolving into the floor. If you follow 2026 palettes, this sits squarely in the smoky jade and eucalyptus greens moving alongside Patina Blue and Transformative Teal.
THE DESIGN
A Kazak-lineage geometric layout carried in Oushak wool and scale: one stepped octagonal medallion with latch-hook edges and a diamond core, four corner spandrel medallions in ram's horn and cross forms, and a reciprocal cross-and-wave main border set between narrow guard bands. Restrained enough for a modern room, old enough to look inherited.

WHERE IT WORKS

CARE
Vacuum without a beater bar, rotate twice a year, blot spills straight away with a clean cloth, and have it professionally washed every few years.
