HOW IT IS MADE
Every knot is tied by hand on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of Uttar Pradesh, India, using the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving, and the reason this pile sits dense and upright. The pile is 100% New Zealand wool. No latex backing, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the cotton warp itself, knotted and finished by hand.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field reads celadon green at #b5b7a5, roughly 37% of the surface. Border and medallion ground are a warm oatmeal ivory, #e0ceb7, about 30%. The blue is a soft periwinkle, #9c9ba6, at 19%, with apricot terracotta accents, #d09f7f, at 9%, outlined in warm taupe. The field carries gentle tonal movement rather than heavy abrash, so the green reads even from across a room. That cool green against warm ivory is what lets the rug sit comfortably with both oak and walnut.

THE DESIGN
Kazak geometric lineage, woven in the Anatolian Oushak tradition. A stepped octagonal medallion holds the centre, ringed in apricot and filled with a periwinkle star and an apricot diamond. Four corner panels carry latch-hook forms, cruciform rosettes and hooked arrow motifs. The ivory border alternates rosettes with paired glyph figures between narrow guard bands. It is a pattern with real structure, which is why it reads as intentional in a modern room rather than busy.
