"At 9x12 the all-over vine scroll finally has room to breathe — indigo field, terracotta border, and enough carpet to seat eight without a chair leg leaving the pile.

HOW IT IS MADE
Hand-knotted one knot at a time on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of Uttar Pradesh, using the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the double-knot technique behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving, and the reason these carpets outlive the rooms they are bought for. No latex backing, no adhesive, no machine tufting. The fringe is the warp itself, tied off by hand.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. Field: deep indigo with a teal lean (#213546). Main border: burnt copper terracotta (#8A654C). Motifs carry ivory, honey gold, oxblood and a soft sage-celadon. The split is roughly 44% indigo to 35% terracotta - a genuine two-tone carpet, which is why it reads cleanly from the far side of a room instead of dissolving into pattern.
If you follow 2026 palettes: this is midnight teal and clay terracotta, the year's two headline colours, in one hand-knotted piece.
THE DESIGN
An all-over floral in the Ziegler-Sultanabad tradition. A continuous vine scroll carries palmettes, rosettes and serrated leaves across the entire field; corner spandrel devices frame it; a wide main border alternates cypress and boteh forms between narrow reciprocal guard bands. Formal enough for a dining room, loose enough for a farmhouse or a layered boho interior.
