"Every knot in this Oushak is tied by hand on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of Uttar Pradesh, India, using the symmetrical Turkish Ghiordes knot that gives Anatolian carpets their dense, upright pile and their reputation for outliving the rooms they are bought for.
The field is antique gold - an ochre that reads warm honey in morning light and deep harvest brass by evening. Soft abrash banding moves across it, the natural tonal drift that only hand-dyed wool produces, so the surface has depth rather than flatness. Across that field sits a classic Oushak allover composition: large open palmettes, stylized rosettes and serrated leaf forms drawn in slate blue, teal, sage, olive, ivory and quiet flashes of rust and deep navy. A pale straw border frames it with a running vine and cartouche sequence that keeps the whole design architectural rather than busy.
