"Deep peacock blue wool, a burnished gold border and Ottoman lotus blossoms at full Oushak scale: a hand-knotted rug made to anchor your living room.
HOW IT IS MADE
Hand-knotted on an upright loom in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur weaving belt of India at about 100 knots per square inch. Our weavers tie the Turkish Ghiordes knot, the double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving, wrapping New Zealand wool around a cotton foundation. No latex, no glued backing, no machine tufting; the fringe is the warp itself. Knotted to order in about 45 days.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. Field: deep peacock blue #1B3A3D moving to slate blue #344745. Border: burnished gold #8B744C lifting to soft bronze #9B8967. Accents: garnet red #5A3322 and stone ivory #B1AB9C, drawn in umber, olive and walnut outline. About 32% blue to 28% gold, so it reads as two clear colours across a room and a detailed floral up close. Fast chrome dyes; ask for a daylight video before ordering.

THE DESIGN
A large-scale floral Oushak drawing from West Anatolia, where Usak sits in Turkey's Aegean region. Ottoman hatayi lotus heads, pomegranate flowers and carnation sprays spread across the field on fine stems, with no dominant medallion, so it reads evenly from every side. The gold border carries lotus heads and leaves between slim guard stripes. At home in old-world rooms, lake houses, brownstones and modern spaces that need a handmade anchor.
