Two colours and nothing else: a camel field the colour of raw wheat, and a bellflower vine drawn over it in graphite so dark it reads as ink from the doorway.
This listing is for the 8x10 ft (approx. 244 x 305 cm) area rug.
HOW IT IS MADE
Knotted by hand on a cotton foundation in the Bhadohi-Mirzapur belt of Uttar Pradesh. The knot is the Turkish Ghiordes knot - the symmetrical double knot behind Anatolian and Oushak weaving - which gives the pile its upright stand and the motif its clean edge. No latex, no adhesive, no machine tufting; the fringe is the warp itself.
THE COLOUR, MEASURED
We colour-sample every piece before we write about it. The field reads #A08C74 - a camel, a warm mid tan with real depth, not a cream and not an ivory. The border, #97846F, is four percent deeper, so it is tonal rather than contrasting. The motif runs #151516 graphite through #474543 slate to #676056 pewter: 82 percent ground to 18 percent drawing, which is why it reads calm from the doorway and detailed from the sofa.
If you follow 2026 palettes: designers named chocolate brown and deepening earthy neutrals as the rug story of the year. This is that move in a lighter key.
THE DESIGN
The lineage is Arts and Crafts, not classic Oushak medallion work. The drawing is a trailing bellflower vine - slim stems, lancet leaves, closed buds and open bells - after the Donegal carpets of the William Morris school, running to a centred radial rosette inside a ruled vine border with guard bands and turned cornerpieces. From Oushak it takes the weave: the Ghiordes knot, the open field, the soft wool.

Camel is forgiving ground for a high-traffic size: dark enough to hide a day's dust, light enough that the vine still reads at dusk.
CARE
Vacuum with the beater bar off. Rotate twice a year. Blot spills at once, working inwards, and never rub. A professional wash every few years is all it needs.
